Work from home and remote access to your office desktop

Staff / research students who need to use special licensed software / hardware feature on office desktop or require business sensitive data to stay within office can apply to register your office desktop to enable remote access from outside campus.

Remote access to Student Computer Centre

Students who need to use licensed software such as Adobe Creative Cloud, SPSS, SAS and AutoCAD while studying outside campus can leverage PolyU Desktop Sharing Portal to access desktop computers at Student Computer Centre (SCC).

Two-factor authentication for using PolyU O365 apps on MS Cloud wherever not in HK SAR

To align with security requirements for access PolyU O365 applications (e.g. Outlook email, OneDrive for Business and etc.) hosted on Microsoft Cloud from locations outside HK SAR, two-factor authentication will be required effective from 4 March 2022.

Smart tips for switching phone using Microsoft Authentication app

Are you planning to change smartphone? If you are using the Microsoft Authentication App on your old device, don’t it throw away/ trade in your old device yet as it is needed to transfer Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) service to the new smartphone.

IT security online training course – Module 20 available for staff

New module of the IT Security Online Training Course for staff is now available on LEARN@PolyU. This module will introduce the ransomware risks in Microsoft office files.

Try out the wireless projection to Smart Panels in classrooms

41 classrooms in the University have been deployed with prevailing Smart Panels for class activities. Staff and students can share the screen of their notebooks / mobile devices with others via Smart Panel in the classroom with a few clicks.

Data analysis and dashboard reporting tools

Two webinars planned in February covering data analysis with R programming language and Shiny software as dashboard tool. Students interested to gain basic knowledge of data analysis using R programming language and required technique in presentation of findings via dashboard tool for research project / coursework assignment are encouraged to enroll.

If you are new to video editing and looking for video editor that is easy to learn and quick to apply, you should attend the coming online workshop 'The Art of Video Editing'.

University Research Facility Management System

University Research Facility Management System (URFMS) has been adopted by UBSN in 2021, URF in Materials Characterization and Device Fabrication (UMF) has started to migrate their equipment from 3 January 2022 onwards to URFMS. Additional functions and features added in the latest release of URFMS include:
