Summary
Within the Smart City 2.0 framework of Hong Kong, the integration of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) and Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) can play a major role in enhancing urban management. These cutting-edge technologies enable performing complex tasks with extensive area coverage at a low cost while maintaining high flexibility. In this seminar, we will discuss on the pathway for UAS applications in smart sustainable cities. Specifically, we will talk on AI based fully autonomous data collection, 3D reconstruction, fault diagnosis and systematic management of as-built information with BIM/GIS based digital-twin platforms. These technologies can not only enhance urban management efficiency and accuracy but also reduce labour costs and mitigate safety hazards across various scales in built environment.
