Biography
Dr. Peng is a geodesist. She received her B.Eng in Geodesy and Geomatics from Wuhan University and PhD in Astrometry from the Graduate University of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. She started her career in satellite orbit determination at the Shanghai Astronomical Observatory, Chinese Academy of Sciences. She expanded her research domain to sea-level studies after successfully obtaining centimeter-level orbit accuracy for an altimetry satellite Jason-1 and spent one year at the Laboratoire d'Etudes en Géophysique et Océanographie Spatiales, Toulouse, France to study sea-level changes as a visiting scientist. Dr Peng is a Research Assistant Professor at the Department of Land Surveying and Geo-Informatics (LSGI). Before joining LSGI, she was a Senior Research Fellow at the Earth Observatory of Singapore, Nanyang Technological University. Her research interests lie primarily in the detection and attribution of regional sea-level changes. A particular research focus is to study coastal sea-level rise in and around Southeast Asia and the associated impacts of climate change, natural hazards, and human interventions.
