Academic Staff

Dr. Shahzad received his PhD from the Department of Land Surveying and Geo-Informatics (LSGI), The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hong Kong, in 2022. He is a member of the Laboratory for Deformation and Geohazards Studies at the department. With an experience of more than 9 years, he has worked with different national and multinational R&D organizations and also served as a Lecturer at different engineering universities in Pakistan. He was awarded the Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme (HKPFS) by the Research Grant Council (RGC) of Hong Kong in 2018 and has also been awarded the best performance award during his PhD tenure. He is an active reviewer of some of the top journals in the field, including Remote Sensing of Environment, IEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Applied Earth Observations and Remote Sensing, International Journal of Digital Earth, and Remote Sensing.
Dr. Shahzad has authored and co-authored over 16 journal articles, conference papers, and chapters. He joined PolyU in July 2023.
