Biography
Dr. Anshu Zhang is a Research Assistant Professor in Department of Land Surveying and Geo-Informatics, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. She received her BSc degree in Geo-Information Technology in 2011 and her PhD in Geographic Information Systems in 2017 from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Her research interests include spatial data mining, human mobility modeling and prediction, with the emphasis on improving the robustness and reliability of data analytics by approaches such as statistical tests, evolutionary computing, and explainable artificial intelligence. She was the Secretary of Working Group II/1, The International Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (2012–2016). She has participated multiple government-funded projects and is the Principle Investigator of a sub-project (CNY 1,772,500) under the State Key R&D Scheme funded by Ministry of Science and Technology of China. She received China Science and Technology Progress Award in Surveying and Mapping (Grand Award) in 2017.
