簡歷

Prof. Jacky Ng is a quantitative psychologist with a keen interest in exploring how different methodological issues (e.g., spurious effect, analytically equivalent models, and unreliability) impact research findings in social and behavioral sciences. He obtained his PhD in Psychology from The Chinese University of Hong Kong and currently serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Applied Social Sciences at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

Prof. Ng's research revolves around psychometrics and its applications in psychological research. His current focus in psychometrics includes 1) integrating mediation and moderation analyses, 2) distinguishing analytically equivalent models using SEM and multilevel modeling, 3) identifying spurious mediation and moderation effects, and 4) assessing measurement invariance in cross-cultural research. In addition to his methodological research, Prof. Ng conducts psychological research in various areas such as malicious and benign envy, social axioms, globalization, and mental health.

Prof. Ng's research has been published in esteemed journals across disciplines, including Structural Equation Modeling: A Multidisciplinary Journal, Computers in Human Behavior, American Psychologist, Psychological Bulletin, Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, Social Psychological and Personality Science, Journal of Personality, The Journal of Positive Psychology, and Journal of Happiness Studies.

Prof. Ng is open to supervising graduate students as well as postdoctoral fellows in various psychometrics and methodological areas. If you are interested in pursuing a Ph.D. study or a postdoctoral fellowship under his guidance, please send your CV to him via email.
