Biography

Dr Chao-Hsin LIN

  • Fellow of ASME, ASHRAE, and ISIAQ

Dr. Lin specializes in the development of aerospace environmental control systems aimed at ensuring the safety and well-being of passengers and crew. He currently serves as the Editor for Building and Environment. Dr. Lin earned his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1989. His research interests encompass computational fluid dynamics, aircraft cabin environment, multiphase flows, and fire/smoke characterization and suppression.
He has contributed to the field with two book chapters and over 180 peer-reviewed journal articles and conference papers, both as author and co-author. His innovations have led to 19 issued U.S. patents and five Chinese patents. Professionally, he has been honored as a Fellow of ASME, ASHRAE, and ISIAQ. Dr. Lin is a licensed professional environmental engineer in Taiwan and a licensed professional mechanical engineer in Michigan and Washington, USA.
