The Forum on the Low-Altitude Economy and Smart City Synergies, hosted by the Otto Poon Charitable Foundation Smart Cities Research Institute (SCRI), was successfully held on 9 August 2024, attracting 93 onsite participants and captivating an online viewing audience of over 24,000 who watched the live broadcast on the Zoom and Keyanyun platforms.

The Forum invited experts from Hong Kong and Mainland China to give presentations on aspects of the low-altitude economy, including navigation technology, common spatial data infrastructure, urban air mobility and infrastructure construction, regional transportation integration and 3D technology. During a panel discussion, they also discussed several legal issues that have arisen in the implementation of the low-altitude economy; cited some successful cases in other cities; and called for the establishment of corresponding regulations to drive healthy development of this economy in Hong Kong.

The Forum provided a platform for experts and participants to share perspectives and experiences, yielding valuable insights into the future development of Hong Kong’s low-altitude economy.
