Biography

Dr Ren Zhiwei earned his Ph.D. in Electronic and Information Engineering (EIE) from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) in 2018. He currently holds the position of Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) at PolyU. Before joining the EEE department, Dr. Ren served as a Research Assistant from 2016 to 2018 and as a Postdoctoral Fellow from 2018 to 2019 and again from 2020 to 2022 in the Department of EIE at PolyU. He also spent time as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Nazarbayev University in Kazakhstan from 2019 to 2020. Dr. Ren is a recipient of the PolyU Distinguished Postdoctoral Fellowship Scheme. Alongside his research team members, he won the Grand Prize in the Innovation Category and the First Prize at the 7th Hong Kong University Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition.
