Dr Oscar CHAN, Research Assistant Professor of Department of Building Environment and Energy Engineering of PolyU and of PReCIT, was interviewed by Bastille Post to discuss carbon reduction and development of new energy vehicles in Hong Kong. Dr Chan shared that electric vehicles, with simpler structures, are suitable for small cars, while hydrogen vehicles, with more complex yet high-performance structures, are suitable for heavy-duty vehicles like buses. Hong Kong can also adapt strategies to strike a balance between electric and hydrogen vehicles, seeking the most cost-effective and environmentally friendly solutions to achieve sustainability goals.
