Animated works screening to celebrate 10th anniversary of Digital Media degree programme
Sixteen outstanding animated works created by students and alumni of the BA(Hons) in Digital Media programme of PolyU’s School of Design (PolyU Design) are being shown at the “MOViE MOViE anifest” held at three popular cinemas in town from 10 July to 7 August 2021. The screenings were kicked off by Professor Kun-Pyo Lee, Dean of PolyU Design, at the MOViE MOViE CityPlaza on 10 July, supported by guests and a full-house audience.
The works are from up-and-coming animators who graduated from PolyU Design in the past decade. Among them, many are award winners, including Eye Bags by Jun Ho (Sundance Film Festival: Hong Kong Short Film Competition’s Jury Award; Silver, Animation Category of the ifva Awards); Kill Danny by Leung Chun Tat, Wu Hau Chung, and Law Lok Hei (Special Mention, Animation Category of the ifva Awards); Galaman by illustrator Johnee; and more.
PolyU Design has been the cradle of many well-known character creators such as Raman Hui, “father of Shrek”; Alice Mak, creator of McDull and McMug; and Siu Hak, designer of Panda-a-panda.
