PolyU is pleased that the University has leapt from 12th to 5th place in the Times Higher Education (THE) Young University Rankings 2022. As a young university, PolyU has stepped up efforts to equip its students with the necessary skills to meet future challenges, while continuing to strive for excellence in the areas of education, research and knowledge transfer.

The THE Young University Rankings list the world’s best universities that are 50 years old or younger. The 2022 ranking includes 539 universities, up from 475 in 2021. The universities are judged across all their core missions - teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook - to provide the most comprehensive and balanced comparisons available.

PolyU will make reference to the ranking information and other forms of evaluation criteria to identify areas for enhancement. The University will also continue to enhance the quality of education and increase research impact, so as to contribute to the development of Hong Kong, our Nation and the world.
