PolyU researchers and students achieved outstanding results in the first Greater Bay Area (GBA) Data Application Innovation Competition, winning First Prize, Second Prize, a Technical Excellence Award, two Creative Excellence Awards and two Outstanding Awards. The University also received the Outstanding Contribution Award and Excellent Organisation Award, while Prof. Xiao Fu, Associate Dean and Professor of the Faculty of Construction and Environment, was honoured with the Outstanding Guidance Teacher Award.

 

The Competition was jointly organised by the Development and Reform Commission of Shenzhen Municipality, the Government Services and Data Management Bureau of Shenzhen, and The People's Government of Futian District, and aimed to help build an innovative, open and prosperous ecosystem for data application developers across the GBA.

 

Attracting hundreds of entrants from universities, research institutions and companies City-wide, PolyU teams spanning the fields of Building Environment and Energy Engineering, Land Surveying and Geo-Informatics, Computing, Design and more stood out with their creativity and innovation. Delivering excellent data solution proposals, they reflected PolyU’s ongoing commitment to advancing scientific research and innovation.
