As the global automotive industry accelerates the development of new energy vehicles, particularly electric vehicles (EVs), in light of pressing environmental concerns, PolyU has formed a strategic partnership with Wuling Motors Holdings Limited (Wuling Motors) to elevate EV research and development to new heights.

PolyU has previously established the Research Centre for Electric Vehicles (RCEV), focusing on cutting-edge areas, including EV technology, intelligent transport systems, and energy management. The Research Centre also provides an advanced research and development platform for the EV sector. The partnership with Wuling Motors not only signifies a leap forward in EV innovation but also solidifies Wuling Motor's reputation as a brand built on a near-century legacy of innovation.

Witnessed by Mr Wei Mingfeng, Vice President of Guangxi Automobile Group and Executive Director, and Professor Christopher Chao, Vice President (Research and Innovation), the Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Mr Song Wei, Chief Executive Officer of Wuling Motors, and Ir Professor H. Following the signing ceremony, a delegation from Wuling Motors visited the Electrical Machines Laboratory to gain an in-depth understanding of the University's latest scientific research achievements in EVs. Through extensive exchanges, both parties enhanced their understanding of how to further drive innovation in EV technology, translate research into practical applications, promote the incubation of tech enterprises, and facilitate talent exchange and training. Together, PolyU and Wuling Motors are committed to forging a promising future in the EV sector.
