Originally from Nigeria, Dr Increase Onwachukwu, Lecturer of the School of Accounting and Finance at PolyU, brings a wealth of knowledge and passion for research in international trade, environmental economics, and health economics.
His work focuses on the intersection of global trade policies, environmental sustainability, and public health outcomes, aiming to develop informed policies that promote both economic growth and environmental protection. Currently, he is exploring the impact of trade on worsening health outcomes in developing countries and examining the drivers of the gender gap in healthcare utilisation.
Dr Onwachukwu was attracted to PolyU due to its alignment with his values and professional goals. He values the university's commitment to academic excellence, as well as its collaborative and inclusive environment.
