Prof. Jane YOU is a Professor in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. She also serves as the Associate Director of PolyU-Wuxi Technology and Innovation Research Institute.

Professor You has engaged in the research of applying artificial intelligence (AI) to diverse fields. She has participated in many large-scale scientific and technological projects funded by the Hong Kong government such as GRF (General Research Fund) and ITF (Innovation Technology Fund). Prof. You has authored more than 300 papers in internationally renowned journals and conferences. She is also the associate editor of international academic journals such as IEEE Trans. Neural Networks and Learning Systems (IEEE-TNNLS) and actively participates in organizing multiple international academic conferences. Her research achievements have earned her numerous accolades, including the International Invention Award, the Best Academic Paper Award, the Hong Kong Industry Award, and the PolyU Outstanding Contribution Award.

Apart from her research, Prof. You applies her expertise to develop AI-driven solutions for medical diagnosis and monitoring. Her contribution to the above field is internationally recognized by winning the second place in the 2009 Online Retinopathy Detection Challenge (ROC'2009) organized by the International Society for Optics and Photonics (SPIE), special prize and gold medal with jury’s commendation at the 39th International Invention Exhibition in Geneva in 2011, silver medal and special award at the 44th International Invention Exhibition in Geneva in 2016.
