Biography

Prof. Simon LEE is a Chair Professor in Biomedical Sciences at the Department of Food Science and Nutrition, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU). He has received the PhD degree at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Prof. Lee has engaged in brain and neurodegenerative disease research for over 20 years, focusing primarily on drug development for treating ageing-related diseases such as Alzheimer's disease (AD), Parkinson's disease (PD), epilepsy and stroke. His works have been published in journals such as Neurotherapeutics and Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry. He has also served as an editorial board member of Journal of Ethnopharmacology, The Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology and Wiley Announce Publishing Partnership. 

Besides, he works on projects in researching PD and has received competitive research grants from National Natural Science Foundation, Macau Science and Technology Development Fund, Health and Medical Research Fund. By joining RISA, Prof. Lee strives to sharing his expertise for advancing knowledge and innovations in ageing-related scientific disciplines.
