After graduating from Chengdu Medical College as one of the top students with a bachelor’s degree in rehabilitation sciences, I went to pursue a Master of Science in the area of public health at Hong Kong Baptist University. I am currently a PhD candidate at RS of PolyU, under the supervision of Dr Jessie Lin, who has devoted herself to researching neuroscience and neurological rehabilitation. My research interests include the integration of eastern and western approaches to promote mental health, or more specifically, the combination of mind-body exercises and non-invasive brain stimulation for improving mental illnesses (e.g. sleep disturbances) in the community-dwelling elderly. It is hoped that my research study can provide guidance on advanced clinical practice in the management of mental illnesses among the elderly.
