Summary

Most Brands Have Nothing to Say. Design Students of the Future will be Tasked with Giving Them a Voice.

In today's highly competitive market, it can be challenging for brands to stand out and find their unique voice amidst the noise. Small businesses or large multinational corporations need a distinct and compelling message that sets them apart from their competitors. However, many brands need help to create a message that resonates with their target audience effectively, even though they have a product or service to offer. While some may rely on AI-powered shortcuts, they must do more to make an impact and get noticed in the crowded marketplace. Therefore, brands must invest time and effort in developing a solid and authentic brand identity that speaks to their customers and sets them apart. For design students just starting their careers, it is vital to understand the fundamentals of brand building and carry them within themselves to create successful brands for the future.

The lecture is moderated by Stefan Sonntag, Professor of Practice, School of Design
