Material Narratives | MRC Talk and Workshop Series

The Material Resource Centre has invited three local designers to showcase their unique material explorations and design ideas. Each designer has established their studio to express their design theories and concepts.

We are excited that these designers will share their design ideas, material explorations, and studio experiences. They will also run interactive material workshops for SD students. This will be a special opportunity for students to work with different materials and create their own stories.

Edible Materials as Creative Mediums: with a Case Study of the 'Edible Archive of Weather' | Deep Food Talk

Deep Food co-founder Cindy Chan will share her discovery journey in creating design work with edible materials. Drawing on her creative experience in the earlier MRC commissioned work, the ‘Edible Archive of Weather’, she will unfold the bitter and the sweeter of using such a multi-sensory design material. Following her talk, she will invite PolyU participants to join her hands as explorers in designing edible materials, with the ‘Edible Archive of Everything’ experimental project attempting to co-create a collective ‘museum’ of edible archives.
