How to Apply
Aims & Characteristics

The MSc introduces participants to tools and techniques that can be used to evaluate, manage and improve service, operational and supply chain processes, and conduct market analyses. Participants will acquire knowledge on how to evaluate and manage appropriate enabling technologies and use enterprise resource planning systems to improve the operational functions of a business. They will also develop a wide knowledge of strategy development and design.

 

This programme is designed for the development of those who want to work in logistics and supply chain engineering and management across a variety of business sectors.

 

Characteristics

This multidisciplinary and flexible programme offers various modules that blend different major subject areas on Business, Operations, Logistics and Supply Chain Management.

 

Students can attend the programme in full-time study mode and complete it at a faster pace. They can add or drop modules, change their mode of attendance and even attend in different countries to suit their own schedules.

 

In addition to strong academic support from both PolyU and the University of Warwick, local experts and industrialists provide updates on the latest developments in their companies and discuss application and implementation issues.

 

Non-local applicants are welcome to apply to study in this programme in Hong Kong.

Recognition & Prospects

This MSc degree is jointly awarded by The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and The University of Warwick, UK. It will be applied to be continuously accredited by the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply, UK and the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, UK.

 

This industry-led programme adopts multidisciplinary and innovative approaches to provide participants a thorough understanding of key elements in Business, Operations, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, and subsequently enable them to apply the management techniques for improving integrations of the business operation systems.

Curriculum

Programme Structure

For the MSc

A minimum of 8 modules, of which;

6 Core Modules:

  • Logistics & Operations: Strategy & Management
  • Procurement and Inventory Management
  • Storage and Warehousing Technologies
  • Study, Professional and Analytical Skills
  • Supply Chain Management
  • Transport Techniques and Management; and

at least 2 Elective Modules; and a Project (Dissertation)

 

For the PgD

Students must either complete (i) 8 taught modules or (ii) 4 modules plus a Project (Dissertation).

Initial Registration Credits

1 module (equivalent to 3 credits) for local part-time students;
HK$110,000 [fees for 5 modules (15 credits)] for local full-time and non-local students

Tuition Fee

HK$22,000 per module for local and non-local students

 

Note: A HK$55,000 Project (Dissertation) fee will also be charged for local and non-local students.
