Interview Arrangement

The following summary only includes schemes/programmes which plan to conduct interviews and/or aptitude tests/assessments for the 2024/25 admissions exercise. As further changes on these arrangements may be made, applicants should check this webpage regularly to obtain the most up-to-date interview arrangements of our schemes/programmes.

 

Schemes / programmes which will conduct interviews / aptitude tests / assessments before the announcement of the HKDSE results will notify shortlisted applicants of the details individually by email, SMS, phone (our phone number usually starts with 2766 or 3400) or other electronic means. Schemes / programmes which will conduct interviews / tests after the announcement of HKDSE results will release their interview / test shortlist on 24 July 2024 at our eAdmission System via the Study@PolyU website at www.polyu.edu.hk/study.  Schemes / programmes which do not specify any interview arrangement at the Study@PolyU may also invite applicants to attend an interview if deemed necessary. Applicants are advised to check the details and attend the interviews/tests as scheduled since re-arrangement may not be possible. If they fail to do so, their applications may not be further considered.

Aims
  1. To understand the suitability of applicants to BA(Hons) Scheme in Fashion at degree level.
  2. To ascertain whether applicant’s expectations of the programme/career path match what we aim to provide.
  3. To evaluate the language, communication and interpersonal skills of the applicants.

Admission interviews are scheduled to all Band A applicants after submission of JUPAS application. Selective interviews are scheduled before the announcement of HKDSE results. Final interviews to selective applicants after the announcement of HKDSE results.

Remarks

While all bands of applicants are considered, preference is given to Band A and B applicants. Admission to the programme is primarily based on academic merit. The programme will directly offer a place to those candidates with outstanding performance in HKDSE, waiving the interview requirement.

 

Detailed interview arrangements will be announced to JUPAS applicants via email one week before the dates of group interviews/ individual interviews/ final interviews. Applicants who have good interview performance will be given bonus scores to increase their chance of being admitted to the programme. 

 

All students who are admitted with HKDSE results start the programme with two common semesters of foundational training in fashion and textiles, after which they are streamed into one of the five specialisms(except for students with Secondary Major).

Mid-/end of January – Admission schedule/details announced via email to all Band A candidates

Mid-June –Admission schedule/details announced via email to selective candidates

Mid July – HKDSE results announced

Mid-/end of July –Final interviews to selective candidates
