Congratulations to SYA Freshmen! Welcome to the PolyU family!

The SYA Project continues to organize orientation activities for PolyU Senior Year Admitted (SYA) freshmen as in past years. In order to introduce the essential information about university to them, six identical sessions of orientation activity were held from late July to late August. Due to the alleviating COVID-19 pandemic, face-to-face orientation has been resumed finally. At the same time, students who were not able to attend the activity physically could join the activity online to interact with speakers and student ambassadors simultaneously. 

This year, different PolyU departments were invited to present in the orientation activities. Undergraduate Studies Supporting Officer from the Office of Undergraduate Studies (OUS) explained the newly revised General University Requirement (GUR) curriculum. Moreover, Student Counsellors from Counselling and Wellness Section (CWS), Student Affairs Office (SAO) introduced the campus counselling service and strategies for stress management. Besides, the student ambassadors from SYA Project shared their fruitful university lives to address their concerns. Freshmen joining us on-site were brought to walk around the campus as well. Those activities inspired them not only to focus on their studies but also to spare some time for activities for enrichment of university life.

Comprehensively concluding the evaluation and comments from participants, the SYA Project was glad that the orientation activity helped them integrate into university life successfully. Wish that our SYA freshmen could strike a balance between academics and entertainment and have a fruitful university life.
