Something about me:

My name is Coye and I'm a Year 4 student studying in Investment Science and Finance Analytics, and I transferred from Shoreline Community College in Washington. The transition from Shoreline CC to PolyU was a big adjustment for me. Coming from a different academic system in the US, I initially felt out of my element at PolyU. The workload, teaching style, and campus life were very different from what I was used to at my previous school. In those first few weeks, I wasn't sure where to seek help. But after getting involved with the SYA, I found a community of fellow transfer students. The SYA helped me register for courses, showed me around campus, and gave tips for succeeding at PolyU. Now, as a SYA Student Ambassador, I'm paying it forward. I connect with new transfer students to provide advice and reassurance. I share my own experience to show new students that they can thrive at PolyU, even though the initial transition is tough. I encourage all new transfer students to get in touch with me and the SYA team. Feel free to reach out with any questions or just to make a new friend on campus!
