Many thanks for registering for ‘Teaching & Tweeting: 5 Days of Twitter #5DoT’. As you know, the workshop begins on Monday 14th May and will take no more than 20-25 minutes of your time per day. I will be posting the daily blogs on the eLearning Support Website, however I will email the link to these blogs to you all every morning – don’t worry though, you can read the blogs and complete the activities at whatever time is convenient to you.

Overview
5 Days of Twitter is an online workshop which, in 20 minutes a day over 5 days, gets participants tweeting and learning about Twitter as a communication tool and medium for teaching and learning. During each of the 5 Days of Twitter, the facilitator publishes a daily blog to get participants set up on Twitter and explore what Twitter offers in a HE context.
The workshop covers:
- Basics - setting up a profile and following people
- Tweeting and @ messages
- Retweeting and hashtags #
- Multimedia & Twitter for Teaching & Learning
- Polling and threads
Learning Outcomes
Interacting with each other through Twitter, participants will complete 3 short activities in their own time, which will enable them to:
- Create an online presence in the Twitter community
- Learn how to tweet effectively and build a network
- Disseminate information, multimedia and polling questions to peers
Tasks & Activities
Day Two: Tweet @eLearningPolyU with a link to an article and/or video
Day Three: Retweet a Tweet and tag @eLearningPolyU
Day Five: Create a 24 Hour Poll
