For those Chinese characters that are inconsistent in traditional and simplified forms, there are still some rules to follow.
Some simplifications are achieved by simplifying the radicals, while some are achieved by simplifying the radicals and other components. We can master the simplified characters by using the corresponding rules of traditional and simplified radicals and components.
Observe the following set of Chinese characters.
The above two are the traditional and simplified forms of the same Chinese character. There are many other Chinese characters like this. Observe the following three groups of Chinese characters and find out the correspondence between the traditional and simplified forms of them.

Note that the difference between traditional and simplified Chinese characters in the first group is in the radicals on the top. This shows that the difference in radicals can occur in any part of the characters, and is not limited to the position of the radicals.
