Summary

Through the perspectives of Mrs. Elisa Riff, a deadpan TV host, and Miss Papagandria, a flamboyant journalist, we meet various "real" artist characters and see various features of Polluta, an imaginary ecotopian artist colony. At the end of the film, select artist characters are discontent with the “perfect” ecotopia and decide to take the matter into their own hands.

The moving images are all painstakingly hand-painted on rice paper.

At the end of the film, we hear a dark desperate song "The Polluta Cadenza" in which select artist characters are discontent with the “perfect” ecotopia, decide to take the matter into their own hands and eventually ride off into a glowing sun on flying elephants.
