PolyU-OPPO Joint Innovation Research Centre
PolyU signed a collaborative framework agreement with Guangdong OPPO Mobile Telecommunications Corp., Ltd (OPPO) to upgrade the existing “PolyU-OPPO Joint Innovation Lab” (former Joint Lab) into the “PolyU-OPPO Joint Innovation Research Centre” (Joint Innovation Research Centre), effective from January 2025. This new framework will not only continue present research on artificial intelligence (AI) driven computational imaging but will also conduct more comprehensive and in-depth research that will cover the applications of smartphone AI imaging at all levels.
Metaverse+ Joint Laboratory
PolyU and Accel Group Holdings Limited (Accel Group) have established the “PolyU-Accel Group Metaverse+ Joint Laboratory” (Joint Lab). The Joint Lab aims to foster the research and application of metaverse technology in various sectors, accelerate the ongoing development of Hong Kong as a green and smart city, strengthen industry-academia-research collaboration and cultivate professional talents.
PolyU Embodied Artificial Intelligence Lab
The establishment of the PolyU Embodied Artificial Intelligence Lab at COMP, which was made possible through the generous support of Jinan Boyushenhang Information Technology Group Co., Ltd. and Jsmart Technologies Limited. This lab aims to be a pioneering platform in HKSAR and beyond, dedicated to advancing cutting-edge research in embodied artificial intelligence within complex real-world environments, ultimately fostering a world of harmonious human-machine coexistence.
