Outstanding Alumni Award of PolyU School of Accounting and Finance 2022

We are pleased to announce the following awardees of the Outstanding Alumni Award of PolyU School of Accounting & Finance 2022 for their remarkable achievements.   Mr Wilson WAN Sze-Chung    Outstanding Alumni Award in Entrepreneurial and Community Service Achievement of PolyU School of Accounting and Finance Wilson started his entrepreneurship since 2003 as a creative business consultant and strategist in the areas of business strategies, human resources management, and innovative business development.  He was a pioneer in using Happiness Index for human resources management of companies in Hong Kong and is the founder of Success By MAGIC SBM™ Methodology and Miracle Quotient MQ© helping companies to enhance team performance and create sustainable values. He is currently Director & GBA Strategist of Jacob Walery Limited, an Independent Non-Executive Director and Chairman of Audit Committee of Plover Bay Technologies Limited (Main board stock code: 1523.hk) and Ebon Holdings Limited (Main board stock code: 599.hk).  He is also a lecturer of different university programs in the areas of Auditing & Assurance, Business Strategies, Strategic Innovation & Entrepreneurship and Strategic Marketing Management. Apart from being an innovative entrepreneur, Wilson has also been contributing to PolyU and other community services continuously over 20 years since his graduation from PolyU in 1997.  He has been an Executive Committee Member of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University Accounting and Finance Graduates’ Association (AFGA) since 2003, and he served as Honorary Treasurer and Board Member for The Federation of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University Alumni Association between 2005 and 2008.  He also served as President (2017-18) for Wan Chai, Hong Kong Lion’s Club and President (2014-15) for The Rotary Club of Peninsula Sunrise.  He is the founder and Council Chairman of the charity Hong Kong Caring Magic Circus (HKCMC) which grew from 16 volunteers to over 800 registered volunteers in 10 years contributing over 800 charity projects by 2018 to bring joy, passion and love to the community.  He was awarded the 5th Hong Kong Spirit Ambassadors Award in 2014, the 5th Hong Kong Volunteer Award in 2013, and ATV Hong Kong Loving Hearts Campaign Finalists Award in 2014.   Mr Bayern CHUI Kin-Pong   Outstanding Young Alumni Award in Professional Achievement of PolyU School of Accounting and Finance Bayern started his career at KPMG in 2005. He is an audit partner of KPMG China, Hong Kong office and is the regional head of Global Japanese Practice in Hong Kong. He leads several audit, IPO and restructuring projects for exchange-listed groups and companies based in Mainland China and Hong Kong. He has a broad client base in a variety of sectors such as telecommunication and technology, healthcare, consumer markets and transportation. Bayern is enthusiastic in devoting himself in giving back to his alma mater, PolyU. He currently serves as Vice President of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University Accounting and Finance Graduates’ Association (AFGA) and a Director of Federation of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University Alumni Association. He is also passionate in youth affairs. He is a mentor of the PolyU “INSPIRE” Mentorship Programme and was a member of the Young Members’ Committee of Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants.   He is a fellow of Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants and a member of ACCA.

PolyU came FIRST in Hong Kong and ranked SIXTH globally for Archival Research (Financial Accounting) in Brigham Young University (BYU) Accounting Research Rankings 2020

PolyU School of Accounting and Finance is ranked FIRST in Hong Kong and SIXTH in the world (for Archival Financial) according to the latest BYU Accounting Research Rankings 2020.  These rankings are based on the number of publications and citations in 12 top accounting journals since 1990. PolyU made a remarkable leap from 21st (the most recent 12 years) to the 6th place (the most recent 6 years) for Archival Financial Accounting Research. PolyU also ranked third in Asia and 15th in the world for Archival Accounting Research (All Topics) in the year 2020.
