Biography

Dr Wai Man Pang (Raymond) received his PhD from The Chinese University of Hong Kong and is currently a Lecturer in the Department of Computing at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU). Prior to joining PolyU, he served as a Senior R&D Manager at the LSCM and APAS R&D Center. Dr Pang has also held academic positions as an Associate Professor at Saint Francis University in Hong Kong and as an Assistant Professor at the University of Aizu in Japan in 2018 and 2011, respectively.

His research and development expertise encompasses computer vision, graphics, multimedia, machine learning, and metaverse technologies. His work includes vision-based recognition applications, 3D simulation and VR for training, image style transfer and analysis, as well as robotics perception for navigation and autonomous driving. Dr. Pang has published over 70 articles in prominent journals, including ACM SIGGRAPH, IEEE Transactions on Visualization and Computer Graphics (TVCG), and IEEE Computer Graphics and Applications (CGA). He had also secured several competitive grants (FDS from RGC), innovative technology funds (ITF), and institutional support.
