Biography

W. L. Chan received his BSc(Eng) and MPhil degree from University of Hong Kong, in 1988 and 1993 respectively. He then received Ph.D. degree from City University London in 2000. He is now an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. His major research interests are in industrial automation and computer applications in power system. He is the Vice Chairman of the International Association of Elevator Engineers (Hong Kong-China Branch). He is also a senior member of IEEE and a committee member of the Joint Chapter of PES/IAS/PELS/IE, IEEE Hong Kong Section.
