Call for Nominations: Outstanding Alumni Award of PolyU Faculty of Business 2024

Faculty of Business (FB) is now inviting nominations for its Outstanding Alumni Award.

The Outstanding Alumni Award of PolyU Faculty of Business recognises distinguished FB graduates for great distinction in their chosen fields, active support to their alma mater, as well as their impactful contributions to the wider community.

The Outstanding Alumni Award of PolyU Faculty of Business is part of the Outstanding PolyU Alumni Award. Please see here for details.

Eligibility

The nominated candidate for the Faculty Award must be a graduate who has successfully completed a full-time or part-time programme offered by FB.

The following people can act as a proposer:

• PolyU graduates
• PolyU Honorary Graduates
• PolyU University Fellows
• PolyU staff
• Current PolyU Council and Court members
• Current PolyU Advisory Committee members.

Please note:

1. There is no limit to the number of nominations that each proposer can submit. However, the proposer cannot be the candidate himself/herself or a direct relative of the candidate.
2. FB reserves the right to make a final decision on any individual’s eligibility for the award. In case of any dispute/disagreement, the decision of FB shall be final.

Award Categories

In addition to honouring distinguished graduates for their distinction in specific areas, the award recognises the alumni's active support to their alma mater. Support and Contribution to PolyU is one of the key nomination and selection criteria.

Nominations must be made in ONE of the four award categories. Details are as follows:

Award Category	Description
Professional Achievement	This category recognises alumni who have attained distinguished achievements, demonstrated exemplary leadership, and made a strong impact on their profession / industry / society.
Entrepreneurial Achievement	This category recognises alumni who have demonstrated outstanding innovation and entrepreneurship, as well as founded or advanced business or technology ventures with impact.
Scholarly Achievement	This category recognises alumni scholars who have made notable scholarly or research contributions in their disciplines, with proven track record and excellent reputation in the field.
Community Service Achievement	This category recognises alumni who have made impactful contributions to the communities, or who have demonstrated an extraordinary level of commitment, volunteerism and/or philanthropy for promoting the well-being of the communities.

Notes: The bestowal of the award shall subject to individual merits of the candidates. No award shall be given out in a certain category if no suitable candidate is identified.

Selection Committee

The Selection Committee, comprising both internal and external members, will examine the nominations and assess candidates' qualifications and performance for the awards. The composition of the Selection Committee of FB is as follows:

Chairman:	Dean (FB)
Members:	Associate Dean (External Relations and Development) Heads of FB Departments Up to two external members who are recipients of the University/Faculty Outstanding Alumni Awards in the previous years (Recent recipients preferred)
Secretary:	An FB administrative colleague

The deadline for nominations is 10 June 2024 11:59PM HKT. Please download the form here and submit the nomination with all the required supplementary documents to yanika.chau@polyu.edu.hk.

• Selection for Faculty Award and Result Announcement: July 2024

Confidentiality

All information submitted on the nomination form will be kept strictly confidential and will only be used by the Selection Committee for the purpose of the selection process. The candidate will not be contacted by FB until he/she is selected as the awardee of the Outstanding PolyU Alumni Award.
