Summary
Circular economy is an important transformation strategy to decoupling of resource consumption and environmental impact from economic development. The governments and the industries have considered the incorporation of circular economy into their transformation pathways toward sustainability. This talk will introduce the principles of circular economy and discuss the development trends in practice in terms of focuses and tactics. The associated research tools are also presented to show the processes of evaluating the effects of transformation strategies. These tools potentially contribute to analysis of the linkage between economic and environmental systems to identify drivers of environmental and resource issues.
