Dear Colleagues,
On behalf of the Organising Committee, we are delighted to invite you to the STU 10th Anniversary Symposium to be held on 6 August 2022. The Symposium is organised by the Speech Therapy Unit, Department of Chinese and Bilingual Studies, Faculty of Humanities, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
Over the last decade, Speech Therapy Unit (STU) has come a long way to become an established platform for clinical practice, teaching, and research through the delivery of speech therapy services to the general public. Celebrating the 85th anniversary of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and the 10th anniversary of the STU, we find it appropriate to dedicate the theme of this Symposium to the future of speech therapy in Hong Kong. The Symposium is expected to provide an opportunity for local speech therapy practitioners, researchers, and stakeholders to exchange ideas on the latest developments of communication sciences and disorders in the Hong Kong context.
The keynote address will be delivered by Dr. Esther Lau, registered clinical psychologist and Associate Professor, Department of Psychology, The Education University of Hong Kong. The plenary session will focus on professional experience of telepractice in speech therapy during and beyond COVID-19. Six featured workshops with hands-on experience will also be offered by researchers with expertise in chosen areas in this exciting half-day scientific programme.
We sincerely welcome all speech therapists, academics in communication sciences and disorders, and stakeholders from clinical education partnering organisations to participate in this forward-looking meeting. We look forward to seeing you at PolyU!
