Dr Harry Lee, SBS, JP
Dr Harry Lee, Chairman of TAL Apparel Limited, holds a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering degree from Imperial College London and a Doctor of Electrical Sciences degree from Brown University.
Dr Lee joined TAL Group (formerly Textile Alliance Limited) in 1973. TAL employs over 20,000 workers in factories across Southeast Asia and the Chinese Mainland. With nearly 40 years of experience in the textiles and clothing industry, he is actively involved in a number of trade organizations and public services. He is Honorary Chairman of the Hong Kong Garment Manufacturers Association and the Textile Council of Hong Kong Limited, a board member of the Global Apparel, Footwear and Textile Initiative, as well as Chairman of Tradelink Electronic Commerce Limited and the Hong Kong Research Institute of Textiles and Apparel.
Dr Lee was appointed a Justice of the Peace in 1997. In 2001, he was awarded a Silver Bauhinia Star by the HKSAR Government. Dr Lee has also made notable contributions to PolyU by serving as Chairman of the Advisory Committee of the Institute of Textiles and Clothing from 1995 to 2005, and Member of its Council from 2005 to 2008.

Professor Shou Dahua
Professor Shou Dahua is the Limin Young Scholar in Advanced Textiles Technologies and an Associate Professor at the School of Fashion and Textiles at PolyU. He earned his Ph.D. from PolyU in 2013, and subsequently served as a Postdoctoral Fellow at The University of Sydney and Cornell University. Professor Shou is also the founding Programme Leader of the MSc in Intelligent Wearable Technology at PolyU.
Professor Shou’s research interests encompass personal thermal and moisture management, advanced textiles, intelligent wearables, and soft robotics. He has published nearly 100 papers in esteemed academic journals, and has been granted three U.S. patents and over ten Chinese patents in the past three years. He is in charge of over 20 research grants from various competitive funds, including GRF/ECS, ITF, GTF, and ECF. His research has been featured in numerous media interviews and coverage, including ABC News, CMG, China News Service, TVB, and i-CABLE.
In recognition of his contributions, Professor Shou received the Distinguished Achievement Award from The Fiber Society in 2023, a prestigious honour awarded annually to only one recipient worldwide. He was listed among the World’s Top 2% Most-cited Scientists by Stanford University for three consecutive years from 2022 to 2024. He won the TechConnect Global Innovation Awards twice, in 2021 and 2022, and the Gold Medal at the 49th Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions in 2024. He was honoured with the PolyU Graduate School Outstanding Research Postgraduate Young Alumni Award 2024. Beyond his research endeavours, Professor Shou serves as an Associate Editor and Editorial Board Member for seven SCI journals (Q1/Q2). He will also chair The Fiber Society Spring 2025 Conference at PolyU.
