Lantau is the largest island in Hong Kong and has an impressive variety of habitats such as secondary forests, streams, freshwater marshes, mangroves, sea grass beds, etc. It is the home to a wide range of plants and animals, while 70% of land in Lantau has already been designated as country parks. This online sharing session will offer a meaningful introduction to biodiversity concepts to participants, and use Lantau as a case study to explore its wonders of wildlife, its conservation significance, and the way forward.
大嶼山是香港最大的島嶼,擁有多元的自然生境,包括次生林、河溪、淡水沼澤、紅樹林、海草床等等。加上其約七成的土地受郊野公園保護,富於生物多樣性,是眾多動植物的家園。這次的網上分享將深入淺出地介紹生物多樣性的基本概念,並以大嶼山作為實例,為大家展現大嶼生態的日與夜,以及其保育價值和願景。
Dr. Xoni Ma
Founder and Education Director at Outdoor Wildlife Learning Hong Kong
Dr. Ma is one of the few local environmental education and ecology researchers, who focuses on the utilization of outdoor education for school environmental education, and terrestrial forest ecology. He has been heavily involved in environmental education (EE) for years, and takes up various roles such as part-time lecturer for tertiary institutes, coordinating, designing, and steering different kinds of environmental education programmes for a range of audience including young children, students, corporations, elderly, teachers, EE practitioners, and the wider public. He possesses vast knowledge and experience and contributes to the development of environmental education in Hong Kong. Dr. Ma has received different awards and recognition for his accomplishments.
Dr. Ma is also serving as a Member in several Government's advisory committees, including the Advisory Council on the Environment, Endangered Species Advisory Committee and the Education Working Group of Environmental Campaign Committee.
馬昀祺博士
香港戶外生態教育協會 創辦人及教育總監
馬博士為香港少數本地環境教育及生態研究學者,其研究專注於如何利用戶外教學法以推動學校環境教育,以及陸上森林生態。多年來馬博士以不同身份,包括各大專院校的兼任及客席講師及導師,參與統籌、設計、帶領各類型的環境教育項目,對象包括幼兒、學生、企業員工、長者等各類型公眾人士,以至教師及各環境教育專業同工。其豐富經驗加上推動本港環境教育顯著的表現,多年來馬博士屢獲嘉許。 馬博士現時為環境諮詢委員會、保護稀有動植物諮詢委員會、環境運動委員會教育工作小組等的政府諮詢委員會成員。
