About the workshop

Having a closet full of garments and denim jeans that you don’t wear anymore? Hong Kong’s waste statistics say Hongkongers dispose of 110,000 tonnes of textile garments each year, which equals a rate of 1,400 T-shirts being thrown out per minute! This workshop will offer the participants a good upcycling idea to turn unwanted denim and leather goods into mug pad in a creative and handcrafted way.

Each of the successful registrants of the workshop is entitled to a Denim Mug Pad Kit. The Denim Mug Pad Kit includes:

• 4 denim pieces in 10 x 10 cm
• 2 leather pieces in 10 x 10 cm
• 1 needle & thread kit

Successful applicants for the workshop will be officially notified by email. They are required to follow the pick-up instructions and collect the Denim Mug Pad Kits before the workshop starts. Details will be given in confirmation emails.

成功報名並獲確定參加資格的人士將收到電郵通知。他們必須按照電郵上的指示於工作坊舉行前先領取牛仔布杯墊材料包。

About the instructor

Carrie Kwok
Founder and Designer at CAR|2IE

Carrie Kwok became a fashion designer after she graduated with a BA in Knitwear Design from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. With years of exploring the fashion production chains, she realized that the media also plays a crucial role in shaping the fashion world. In order to go beyond the fashion field, Carrie became a fashion journalist and earned her exquisite experience in the glamorous world of media. Then she had a chance to return to her studies. She completed her MA in Womenswear Fashion at Middlesex University in London and worked as an intern in Simone Rocha afterward.

With her international education and work background and her passion for fashion, Carrie launched her own label CAR|2IE in 2016. The label was selected one of the winners in Lane Crawford Creative Call Out in 2017.

品牌設計師 Carrie Kwok 在香港理工大學針織設計學士畢業後，便成為時裝設計師。在了解服裝在實際生產線的製作過程後，她發現傳媒在時裝界也是主要關鍵。為了突破自己, Carrie 成為時尚雜誌的時尚記者。接觸過五光十色和迷人的傳媒世界後，她有機會到海外再次進修，隨後她在英國倫敦的 Middlesex University 完成了時裝碩士課程，並在 Simone Rocha 擔任實習生。

基於 Carrie 國際教育和工作背景以及對時裝的熱情，她於 2016 年推出了自己的品牌 CAR|2IE 。在 2017 年，她的品牌在連卡佛舉行的 Creative Call Out 比賽中得獎。
