Awards for Outstanding Performance and Achievements
To recognize the efforts of our high-performing staff and researchers, PolyU has established a two-tier award system that will further motivate our staff and research teams. The first tier is known as the “Faculty/School Awards for Outstanding Performance/Achievement” and the “Outstanding Performance/Achievement Awards for Non-academic Staff”. The second tier is called the “President’s Awards for Excellent Performance/Achievement”. Both tiers give awards to individuals and teams that make exceptional contributions to the development of PolyU in their respective fields.
Entries of the first tier are nominated and evaluated by assessment panels. The winners of the first tier are eligible to be nominated for the upper tier – the President's Awards for Excellent Performance/Achievement – which is the highest possible accolade.
The President's Awards for Excellent Performance/Achievement have been given out biannually since the 2015/16 financial year. This year, we were proud to present the awards to Dr. Henry Chan (Teaching – Individual Award), Ir Prof. Zhang Ming and Prof. Lu Chao (Research and Scholarly Activities – Individual Award). Two teams were also awarded under the Services and the Operational Excellence categories.
