With this eFax service, you can: Save Paper: Fax out the document over an Internet browser and receive incoming fax document directly to your designated Staff email mailbox Save Cost: No need to pay monthly rental charge for dedicated fax line and no need to buy fax machine, paper and toner Save Time: No need to wait the incoming fax and go around the office to pick the fax It is a FREE service to departments without any setup cost or monthly charge. Did you know: How to add emoji to your email message in Outlook

It is always easy to input emoji in your instant message or email with your smartphones or tablets, as the emoji keypad has already built-in. However, it is another case while you are using desktop PC with a physical keyboard. So, let us tell you a little trick on adding emoji to your email message in Outlook. Outlook for Microsoft 365 contains a small set of default emojis. Users can type the text code for insert an emoji. For example, typing :-) inserts the emoji of a smiley face. However, with Outlook running on Windows 10, it is even easier to insert an emoji as Windows 10 contains a larger set of emojis. To call out the Windows 10 emoji keypad, press the Windows key and the period key at the same time. emoji02 Press the Windows key and the period key at the same time emojji03 1 Windows 10 emoji keypad To find an emoji form the keypad, you can either scroll through the list, use the category icons at the bottom of the emoji keypad, or type the word to search the emoji you want. For example, typing the word ‘present’ filters the available emoji for you. Then simply click the one you want to insert it into your email. Let’s try this out.

Efficiency enhancement on purchasing process

Shifting department internal approval process for purchase request to online brings more transparency on department purchase expenditure and potentially drive up administration efficiency. Stakeholders receive email notification once internal purchase request pending their action. Subject expert and Department General Office each can check and validate respective information say technical standards and charge to account code respectively in parallel. This speeds up turnaround before flow to HoD or delegate for final approval. Essential supporting and justification needed for specific type of purchase can be included as reminder text to potential requestor.

The PolyU Desktop Sharing portal has been launched and students can remote access to desktops at Student Computer Centre (SCC) to use licensed software installed on these machines (e.g. Adobe Creative Cloud, SPSS etc.) for learning purpose anytime and anywhere.

Skype for Business will retire in July 2021

Skype for Business has been serving PolyU users for many years and will retire on 31 July 2021. As a replacement, Microsoft Teams will be the primary tool for all calls, video conferences and meetings for users using Office 365.
