We are pleased to announce the following awardees of the Outstanding Alumni Award of PolyU Department of Management & Marketing 2023 for their remarkable achievements.
Prof. Wing LAM
Outstanding Alumni Award in Scholarly Achievement of PolyU Department of Management and Marketing
Prof. Wing Lam is currently Professor of Organisational Psychology at the University of Manchester. She received her Ph.D. from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Prof. Lam’s research focuses on employee proactivity, leadership, and emotional labor. Her standing and impact are demonstrated by the quality of published outputs (54% of articles in ABS journal list 4*), its volume (26 journal articles, 3 book chapters), and citation levels (nearly 3,000 citations). Her publications have appeared in top-tier journals, such as Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, Personnel Psychology, and Journal of Organizational Behavior. Currently, she is serving as an Associate Editor for Journal of Occupational and Organizational Psychology (ABS 4) and Journal of Business Research (ABS 3).
Mr Kino LAW
Outstanding Young Alumni Award in Entrepreneurial Achievement of PolyU Department of Management and Marketing
Mr Kino Law is the Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of K&K Property Holdings Limited. He co-founded the K&K Property Group with his father, Mr Raymond Law in 2012. He is also the chairman of K&K Charity, which focuses on empowering underprivileged teenagers through sports education.
Before founding the K&K Property Group, he worked in investment bank and Park Hotel Group. He was involved in a range of major property transactions within the family business. For example, he participated in the disposal of the a shopping mall in Hong Kong for HK$1.9 billion in year 2012 and the sales of two hotels in Singapore for HK$8.8 billion in year 2013. Through the K&K Property Group, he has participated in land acquisitions, product design and development, sales and marketing of at least 18 projects in Hong Kong and London.
Through K&K Charity, Mr Law sponsored a competition for Faculty of Business and Faculty of Construction and Environment students on sustainable housing (Smart-e Competition). The winning team was sponsored to participate in an international conference to share their ideas. The competition generated publicity for PolyU on sustainable building in 2017.
