Poets&Quants’ Top 50 Undergraduate Professors of 2022

Dr Arnaud CUDENNEC was recently recognised as one of the Top 50 Undergraduate Professors of 2022 by Poets&Quants (P&Q). P&Q evaluated more than 500 undergraduate professors’ research and teaching accolades. The final score was calculated with 30% weight on research and 70% weight on teaching. For research, P&Q considered the volume of a professor’s Google Scholar citations, how much major media attention they received along with research and writing awards. PolyU 85th Anniversary Conference – “Managing Innovation in the Digital Era”

To celebrate the 85th Anniversary of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, our department has organized the Conference - "Managing Innovation in the Digital Era" successfully on 4 Nov 2022 (Fri). This conference has brought cutting-edge knowledge from both academia and business world to generate new ideas and best practices on innovation, leadership, and digital marketing. Speakers from Cathay Pacific Airways, Google, Carousell, Cloudbreakr, Wedo Global and PolyU MM delivered keynote speeches on innovation & branding in the morning session, and innovation & business opportunities in the afternoon session. Panel discussions were followed to facilitate exchanges of viewpoints among speakers and participants.

World’s Top 2% Scientists by Citation

Prof. Michael Harris BOND, Prof. Wai Ting Eric NGAI and Dr Wing Sing Vincent CHO rank among the world’s top 2% of scientists in their main disciplines for career-long citation impact (Ioannidis, 2022). Tracking millions of scientists worldwide, the study has identified about 195,600 top 2% of scientists, among whom 201 are PolyU academics. The database contains the career-long data updated to end of citation year 2021. The latest dataset is based on the 1 September 2022 snapshot from Scopus. MM will hold a PolyU 85th Anniversary Public Webinar on the topic "Lessons from the Science of Motivation" on 19 September 2022. Abstract: Motivating ourselves and others is challenging during these uncertain times. Ayelet Fishbach, the past president of the Society for the Science of Motivation, will discuss what motivation science has taught us about how to achieve our goals. She’ll discuss some of the interventions that facilitate behavioral change, including setting a goal, monitoring progress toward a goal, addressing multiple goals and leveraging social support.   More Details
