Rujiao Helene Cao received her PhD degree in Organizational Behavior /Human Resource Management at University of Maryland, College Park. Her research is centered around the question of what promotes (or inhibits) employee prosocial and proactive behavior. There are two core streams in her research that shed light on the antecedents and psychological processes of prosocial and proactive behavior. The first stream of her research examines the role of boundaries in the workplace (i.e., physical and social) in influencing prosocial and proactive behavior. Her second stream of research emphasizes the emotional processes underlying prosocial and proactive behavior.
