Global Smart Cities Summit cum the 3rd International Conference on Urban Informatics commences

The Global Smart Cities Summit cum the 3rd International Conference on Urban Informatics (GSCS & ICUI 2023), organised by the Otto Poon Charitable Foundation Smart Cities Research Institute (SCRI) and the International Society for Urban Informatics (ISUI) commenced on 21 August 2023. This three-day conference has attracted over 500 participants globally and over 230 speakers will share their insights and research on urban informatics and smart cities.

中國港灣─理大土地發展聯合研究中心首場技術研討會圓滿舉行

中國港灣─理大土地發展聯合研究中心於７月18日舉辦首場以「都市固體廢物焚化」為題的技術研討會。研討會由研究中心聯席主任兼理大土地及空間研究院管理委員會成員戴建國教授致歡迎辭揭開序幕。八位來自理大、香港城市大學、深圳大學、廣東省環保集團有限公司的講者就香港及大灣區城市都市固體廢物焚化灰燼的增值處理進行分享演說。研究中心聯席主任兼中國港灣（香港）辦公室主任孫華磊先生亦率領一行四人的中國港灣代表團參加此次活動。

可持續城市發展研究院成功舉辦年度國際研討會

香港理工大學（理大）可持續城市發展研究院（RISUD）於2023年7月6日至7日在校園成功舉辦其年度國際研討會。 是次研討會以「創新技術促進城市可持續發展」為主題，匯集近50位來自世界多地的講者發表主論壇及分題演說。

本港首個交叉學科研究與發展的大型學術會議「香港理工大學高等研究院大會2023」昨日（5 月 8 日）開幕。為期四天的會議以「卓越研究 造福社會」為主題，逾百位全球著名學者及專家將擔任講者，分享不同研究領域的最新發展和真知灼見。深圳醫學科學院創院院長顏寧教授發表演說，講解蛋白質的前沿研究及其可能對痛症藥物開發的深遠影響。

美國史丹福大學Kathryn Ann Moler教授主講第七場傑出講座

Moler教授於講座中分享了史坦福大學締造有利科研發展環境的經驗，並從「促進撰寫協作項目提案」、「規劃共享實驗設施、數據、電腦資源」、「大學治理變革」三方面舉例闡述。

RCSV and SO 45th Anniversary Joint Distinguished Lecture - “Insights from visual neuroscience on developmental dyslexia” (只有英文版本)

The RCSV and SO 45th Anniversary Joint Distinguished Lecture on “Insights from visual neuroscience on developmental dyslexia” by Prof. Deborah Giaschi was held on 23 March 2023. It attracted approximately 140 online registrants, including optometrists, practitioners, academic staff and students from 10 countries and regions.

PolyU and MCMIA co-organise university-industry collaboration forum to drive Chinese medicine innovation in the GBA

The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) and The Modernized Chinese Medicine International Association (MCMIA) co-organised the “University-Industry Collaboration on Chinese Medicine Innovation Forum”, bringing together over a hundred academic and industry leaders from the Greater Bay Area (GBA) to share insights on how to promote the development of Chinese medicine (CM) under the latest national plan and policies.
