RISE Smart Energy Research Seminars
The Otto Poon Charitable Foundation Research Institute for Smart Energy (RISE), established in 2020, is a university-level platform for multi- and interdisciplinary research, at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, for smart energy technologies and solutions. With over 40 faculty members from 12 departments, RISE focuses on advancing five foci of smart and sustainable energy development, including: (I). District energy systems and smart grid, (II). Smart buildings and smart energy systems, (III). Advanced energy storage technologies; (IV). Advanced and renewable energy conversion technologies and, (V). Advanced energy materials, covering both energy system technologies and enabling energy technologies.
A series of RISE Smart Energy Research Seminars are organized for researchers outside the specific subject areas of concern to facilitate the exchanges and understanding between RISE members and researchers/professionals beyond the specific subject areas, with the aim of creating more cross-disciplinary collaboration opportunities.
