Four PolyU research teams have recently been honoured with the Higher Education Outstanding Scientific Research Output Awards (Science and Technology) 2020 by the Ministry of Education!

The award-winning research projects are as follows:

Second-Class Award in Natural Science

“Coupling smart materials to metal-ion doped phosphors: luminescence tuning, mechanisms and proof-of-concept devices” by Professor Jianhua Hao, Dr Zhang Yang and Dr Wong Man-chung of the Department of Applied Physics

Second-Class Award in Natural Science

“The design, fundamental research and biological applications of fluorescent small molecules” by Deputy President and Provost Professor Wing-tak Wong, Dr Law Ga-lai and Dr Jiang Lijun of the Department of Applied Biology and Chemical Technology in collaboration with Hong Kong Baptist University researchers

Second-Class Award in Natural Science

“New mechanisms for investment decisions of transportation infrastructure” by Ir Professor William H. K. Lam of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering

Second-Class Award in Technological Innovation

“Key technologies for efficient preparation of nano-selenium and its biomedical applications” by Dr Wong Ka-hing of the Department of Applied Biology and Chemical Technology in collaboration with Jinan University and Guangdong Jinan Established Selenium Source Nano Technology Research Institute Co., Ltd.
