PolyU soars to 17th place in the QS Asia University Rankings
PolyU has achieved a significant milestone in its academic journey, ascending six places to reach 17th position in the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) Asia University Rankings 2025. This advancement of six positions from the previous year positions PolyU firmly among Asia’s top 20 universities.
In an evaluation encompassing 984 Asian universities across 11 indicators, PolyU has excelled in several criteria. The University has maintained its exemplary performance in international faculty representation, achieving the maximum score in the “International faculty ratio” criterion for two consecutive years. This achievement reflects PolyU’s success in attracting and retaining top academic talent from around the world. Additionally, PolyU’s research capabilities have been particularly noteworthy, performing well in both “Citations per paper” and “International research network” metrics, demonstrating the University’s growing influence in global academic discourse.
Looking ahead, PolyU is set to expand its global footprint through enhanced international partnerships and collaborations. This strategic direction aligns perfectly with Hong Kong's broader ambitions, as the University actively supports the HKSAR government's initiative to establish the "Study in Hong Kong" brand and transform the city into an international hub for post-secondary education. These efforts are expected to further strengthen PolyU’s position in the global academic landscape and contribute to Hong Kong’s development as a world-class education destination.
