The Communication Design Cluster Lecture features speakers from Advertising Design, Media Design, and Information Design. Brand Matters by Mr Chi Ho CHEUNG & Mr Jeff, Kit Fu CHAN

The lecture on "Brand Matters." will explore why a career in advertising and branding is not only creative and dynamic but also deeply purposeful. Discover the impact of branding on businesses and culture, and learn how it allows you to shape stories and connect with audiences on a meaningful level.

Environmental Storytelling: Communicating Through Space by Mr Tom MAK

Tom will explore the principles of environmental communication, focusing on branding, wayfinding, and signage. He will demonstrate how effective design can enhance brand identity and help users navigate physical spaces. Through real-world examples and insights, attendees will discover how visual cues, spatial layout, and user-centered design contribute to an intuitive navigational experience. This understanding fosters a deeper connection with our surroundings. How can we use these principles to improve our environments?

Media Design Industry by Mr Andy, Kai On NG

In the lecture, I will be introducing myself first. How I applied my knowledge learned from PolyU to start my company and career.

Then, I will introduce to the students what are the possibilities after they graduate. The different kinds of companies or projects that they can join. Also giving them a brief description of the current business environment. What are the challenges and opportunities that they may encounter.

Speacialising in advertising and brand design, Chi Ho has experience with a wide range of clients, including, Sulwhasoo, Chow Sang Sang Group, 7-Eleven, K11 Art Mall, Avo Insurance, Kai Tak Sports Park, PolyU School of Design, Hong Kong Arts Development Council and many more. Recognised as a young talent by the industry, Chi Ho’s works has been awarded at the British D&AD New Blood awards (Wood Pencil), Young Stars of Korea MAD Stars (Silver & Bronze), Hong Kong 4As Students’ Awards (Best of Show, Gold & Silver).
