SFT has research activities in three broad areas related to fashion and textiles, namely design, technology, and business. A common thread of technology related research in SFT is the science and processing technology of fiber-based materials and their functional applications in both textiles and advanced wearable systems. The business-related research has a focus on supply-chain and operations management, as well as sustainability in the manufacturing industries, while design research contributes to PolyU’s strength and reputation in arts and design.
