Call for Submission of Design Sketches - Nagoya Fashion Contest 2020

Nagoya Fashion Promotion Committee is calling for entries to Nagoya Fashion Contest 2020.  The contest is held to promote the fashion industry and raise fashion awareness by discovering and encouraging outstanding new talent.

Application Qualifications
The contest is open to everyone.
You must be able to create works based on the design sketch, and attend the final public judging and the rehearsal the day before in Nagoya City at your own cost.

Application Method
Produce a colored design sketch (for women, men or children ) on a B4-size (257ｘ364 mm) sheet of drawing paper.

Application Fee
1) If you send works from outside Japan, application fee is waived.
2) If you send works from Japan, you need to pay 500 yen for each sketch as application fee by "Kogawase" of Japan post office.
   *Please don't fill anything in "Kogawase".
   *Cash or stamp will not be accepted.

Deadline for Submissions
Submissions must be received to Nagoya Fashion Association
not later than Thursday, May 14, 2020 by post or courier.
*Submissions via e-mail will not be accepted.

Initial Judging (based on sketches)
Early June 2020
Finalists will be notified in writing by early July.
The result will be announced on this website.

Final Public Judging and Awards Ceremony
Thursday, September 17, 2020
The final judging will take the form of runway show with professional models, and will be open to the public. After that, an awards ceremony will be held.
Venue: Design Hall (3rd Floor, Design Center Building, 3-18-1 Sakae, Naka-ku, Nagoya City, Japan)

Awards and Cash Prizes
Grand Prize (1 winner): 1 million yen
Gold Prize (1 winner): 300,000 yen
Silver Prize (1 winner): 100,000 yen
Encouragement Prize (a few winners): 50,000 yen
Finalists (excluding prize winners) who show at the final public judging: 30,000 yen
