Research Away Day-Refining research directions and reshaping strategies
The Research Away Day was held on 28 and 30 June. Prof. Alex Molasiotis, Head of the School and Prof. Angela Leung, Professor & Associate Head (Research), kicked off the event by giving an overview of our research development and asking our researchers what direction we are heading to spark discussion and reflection.
Prof. Frances Wong, Chair Professor of Advanced Nursing Practice [& Associate Dean (FHSS)], shared the experience of the Research Assessment Exercise (RAE) and gave suggestions on how to prepare for the next RAE. Prof. Angela Leung gave suggestions on how to gasp research grant opportunities.
On the second research away day, Dr Justina Liu, Associate Professor, talked about the strategies for supporting research grant application and Dr Grace Ho, Associate Professor, led the participants to review the School’s research themes and identify the resources and future opportunities for the themes. Dr Betty Chung, Teaching Fellow, and Dr Kin Cheung, Associate Professor, spoke about the challenges in supervising and enrolling PhD students to end the two-day discussion.
